Plain-English summary

Humble Hammer is a private-beta project space for homeowners. We collect the information needed to run the service, keep it safe, support participants and learn whether it is useful. Some project information may be visible to other people depending on the settings and features you use. We do not sell personal information or give advertisers personal-level information about you, your account or your project.

This notice explains how Humble Hammer handles personal information in the private beta. It is written for transparency and trust; it is not presented as an APP Privacy Policy.

Who we are and how to contact us

In this notice, Humble Hammer, we, us and our mean Humble Hammer.

For privacy questions, to correct information, to request account closure or deletion, or to make a complaint, email support@humblehammer.com.au.

During the beta, we aim to acknowledge requests within two business days and resolve them within 30 calendar days. If a request needs longer, we will explain why. We may take proportionate steps to verify that a request is from the relevant person — normally through the email linked to the account. We will not routinely ask for identity documents.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Humble Hammer, we may collect:

Account and access information: name, email address, username, account type, sign-in and password-reset information, invitation and session details.
Profile and directory information: profile details and images; for professional or business listings, names, contact or service details and other listing information supplied by the person, an administrator or approved public sources.
Project information: project details, location details if you choose to add them, privacy choices, timelines, budgets and costs, materials, tools, snapshots, photos, videos, documents, project updates and other content you add.
Community and communication information: posts, articles, questions, comments, reactions, shares, collaborators, notifications, reports and messages.
Support, safety and beta-research information: correspondence with us, reports, moderation or appeal information, waitlist and invitation details, onboarding/support records, and feedback or interview notes.
Product analytics and diagnostic information: page and feature activity, device/browser and referrer information, approximate location, technical error information and account properties needed to understand whether the beta works.

Please do not add information that you do not want used to operate the service or, where you select a sharing option, shown to others. This includes sensitive information about yourself or other people.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you create an account, add or share content, communicate with us or use the service. We also receive information from other users where they interact with you or your content, from service providers that help operate Humble Hammer, and, for some professional or business listings, from approved public sources.

Public-source professional listings are intended as directory context, not an endorsement or confirmation that a person participates in Humble Hammer. We label them as unclaimed where applicable and provide a correction route through our support email.

How we use information

We use information only as reasonably needed to:

create and secure accounts, restrict private-beta access and provide the product features you choose to use;
display, share and collaborate on project or community content according to the relevant settings and product rules;
send essential account, service and beta communications;
provide support, investigate reports, prevent misuse and protect people and the service;
understand activation, errors and product performance so we can improve the beta; and
recruit and operate the private beta, including optional feedback and research.

We do not sell, rent, license or exchange personal information. We do not give advertisers, suppliers or professional subscribers personal-level audience, account, project or contact information. Any future sponsored or promoted placement must use contextual placement and aggregated reporting only unless we first make and communicate a different approved arrangement.

Visibility and sharing

Humble Hammer lets a project owner choose from the visibility and sharing options available in the product. Depending on the option and feature used, information may be visible to the project owner, invited collaborators, other users, people viewing public content, or relevant professionals.

Authorised team members may access private account or project information only when needed for support, safety, security or maintenance. Routine browsing of participant data is not permitted.

Service providers and overseas processing

We use service providers to operate Humble Hammer, such as cloud hosting and storage, authentication, email, chat/realtime, analytics, error monitoring and support services. They may process information for us only to provide their service or as otherwise required by law.

Our private-beta application and database are hosted in Microsoft Azure's Australia East region. Some providers may process information outside Australia; we will update this notice if our handling practices materially change.

Analytics and session replay

We use product analytics to understand whether key beta journeys work, find errors and improve Humble Hammer. Analytics may record page or feature activity, device/browser/referrer information, approximate location, account properties and technical diagnostic information.

Session replay is enabled with inputs and sensitive project content appropriately masked, with access restricted to key team members.

Retention, correction and deletion

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this notice, including operating the service, support, safety, security, disputes and legal obligations.

If a verified account is closed, our approved beta approach is to delete ordinary account and project information and retain only the minimum needed for security, disputes or legal obligations. Some deletion may take time to flow through backups, caches, analytics systems or service-provider systems; we will not promise a fixed period until the technical process is verified.

For people who do not become users, we delete waitlist records 12 months after the last Humble Hammer update, or sooner if they opt out. We delete identifiable beta onboarding and interview notes 90 days after the beta ends and retain only anonymised research findings. Moderation and analytics records are retained only while they serve a defined operational, safety, dispute or legal purpose, with the approach reviewed before public launch.

You can ask us to correct your account or listing information, close your account or request deletion by emailing support@humblehammer.com.au. A request may not result in immediate or complete deletion where we need to retain limited information for the reasons above, or where a technical system needs time to process the request. We will explain any material limitation.

Beta and launch communications

We use waitlist and beta-contact information only for Humble Hammer beta and launch communications. We do not use it for partner marketing or unrelated promotions. You can opt out of those communications through the method provided or by contacting us.

Complaints and changes to this notice

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us at support@humblehammer.com.au. We will investigate and respond using the process and timing described above. If we cannot resolve the concern, we will explain the next available step.

We may update this notice as the beta, product settings or service providers change. We will make the current version available through the legal centre and at signup before applying a material new use of personal information.
